We thank you for riding the transit services of the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT). LADOT recognizes that maintaining the privacy of its passengers' information is crucial to maintaining your continued use of its services. LADOT has developed and will strictly adhere to this privacy policy for the collection, use and disclosure of the personal information you provide to us.

Personal information that will be collected as a result of your request to be emailed or texted service updates will be limited to your address, telephone number, mailing address and email address.

At no time will LADOT use your personal information for any other purpose than the purposes specified below without first obtaining your written consent.

By providing LADOT with the above information, you agree that your personal information will be used for these purposes by LADOT:

  1. To communicate with you about LADOT transit services
  2. To offer you loyalty programs from LADOT related to your use of its transit services.
  3. To improve LADOT services
  4. To comply with legal and regulatory requirements

At no time will LADOT provide or sell your information to sources not connected with providing LADOT transit information to you.


All personal information collected by LADOT will be protected against loss, theft and unauthorized access using appropriate safeguards. LADOT will only retain personal information for as long as it is required or until such time as you determine you no longer wish to be provided with information regarding LADOT transit services. LADOT will delete information from its records when the information is no longer required or when you direct us in writing to remove your name from our databases.

About Us

The City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) currently operates the second largest fleet in Los Angeles County next to LACMTA. LADOT's transit fleet consists of nearly 400 vehicles which operate over 800,000 revenue hours and serve approximately 30 million passenger boardings per year.
